My adventures in the woods, streams, rivers, fields, and lakes of Michigan

The Weekly Photo Challenge: Down

I don’t have a lot of time to devote to this one, I am going to use a few photos left over from my hike in Aman Park on Sunday that fit. First off, going down the hill to get to Sand Creek.

The hill that leads to Sand Creek

Then these two fox squirrels looking down at me as I almost fell down while negotiating the slippery hill.

Then, a red-breasted nuthatch hanging upside down.

Then, this house finch that looked as if it was going to fall down.

And finally, a fox squirrel imitating the nuthatch by hanging upside down.

That’s it for this one, sorry I didn’t have time for better pictures. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Those pictures look fine to me. Strange that some of us who were talking about Yaktrax have either fallen or almost fallen on the ice over the past few days.

      • Ha-I had you in mind when I wrote it. Hope the knee feels better.
If Montucky also slips on ice we’ll have to assume that it’s a devious plot by the company to get us to buy their wares.

      • The knee is back to normal. Like I always say, “No pain, no pain!”

    • Thank you! I should have put my Yaktrax on, but I only needed them for that one hill. After that, the trails were just muddy. As far as no pain no gain, that’s why I am wearing my Red Wing hiking boots, they’re killing my ankles, but I know that they are also building up the muscles that need to be built up.
